OBS trucks (that's 1988 to 1997 Ford F-250/F-350, the 'Old Body Style' era) are a specific animal, and by now most of them are 30+ years old with a lot of miles and a lot of prior owners' decisions baked into the suspension. Clunking over bumps that wasn't there before
This is almost always worn bushings, ball joints, or a tie rod end starting to go — common on OBS trucks given the age of most of what's still original on them. It's not dangerous the first time you hear it, but it doesn't fix itself, and on a truck this age it's rarely just one worn part in isolation.
Uneven tire wear or the truck pulling to one side
If your tires are wearing unevenly, or the truck consistently drifts one direction on a flat, straight road, that's a geometry problem — often tied to worn suspension components changing your alignment even if nobody's touched the alignment settings themselves. On these trucks it's frequently connected to worn radius arm bushings, which are a very common OBS-specific wear point.
Sagging or an uneven stance, especially after towing
OBS trucks that have spent years towing or hauling can develop sagging leaf springs, particularly in the rear. If the truck's stance looks different than it used to, or it sits noticeably lower after you've been using it for towing, the springs have likely taken a permanent set and aren't doing their job anymore.
Excessive body roll or a floaty, disconnected feel
Worn shocks are common on trucks this age that haven't had them replaced, and it shows up as more body roll in corners than you remember, or a bouncy, floaty feel over rough road instead of the suspension settling quickly. Shocks are wear items — if nobody's replaced them in years, they're probably due regardless of whether anything's obviously wrong yet.
